Inside the course

  • Your introduction to the course, time to get to know your teacher and get the lay of the LTM land.

Space to settle, get inspired and collect the building blocks that will see you through the course.

Even though the course is designed to help you become a confident independent learner, Team LTM is always here to support and there are at least two opportunities to connect online every month.

  • If you are an impatient learner like myself you might want to head straight into the Languages and then be done with it, so let’s start with the Top Tips!

The course isn’t especially laid out in a sequence you need to follow in a particular way, but simply presents elements I have found very useful and connected to Langaues through Music.

At the end of the day, we all want to learn the languages, but if you have time to dig into the rest of the Masterclass you might find a few surprise gems as well that could help you boost your own teaching, music or travel ambitions.

  • I’m a bonafide bookworm (how many people do you know who have lived in a library for two weeks?) and I love exploring different ideas around mindset and positive thinking. I have read and experimented a ton in this realm, and found that it it boosted more than just my language-learning, so this is where we get into it.

  • We go so much further together!

Learn about connecting with the polyglot community, creating your own, and attending global events like the Polyglot Gathering and Women in Language.

  • You can’t learn a language, really, without learning about the culture. My own background is highly (Haile?) multicultural, and my teaching/music work has given me the opportunity to travel widely.

I have also spent a decade as intercultural trainer, which I think is one of the best possible jobs for people like yourself, interested in both languages and music- because, by default, you’re deeply into culture, my friend! More on that later.

  • Teaching is a set of skills that can be useful to you in so many ways. How to listen, support, guide, explain, enlighten, measure and evaluate: all contained in this noble profession.

In this chapter get a taste of what it takes to teach— a curated selection of golden nuggets from dozens of different certificates and schools. I might be biased, but I think everyone should teach something at some point, at least once in their lives because it makes you a better communicator in so many ways.

  • Teaching, interpreting, translating, coaching— where in the world can languages take you? How can they lift your career and broaden your network? I share some thoughts in this chapter, and the Masterclass PDF is chunky! Full of resources and ideas for you to expand on, if you are considering how to grow diversify your teaching career.

  • How to take a melody and make it into a lifestyle? Are you a singer, a musician, a curator, a manager?

No matter what stage you are in exploring a music career, pick up some potentially useful pointers right here on how to travel the world through songs.

  • When I tell my friends I do ‘Intercultural Training’ they usually look baffled and ask me how that’s a job! It is a great, well-paid gig that most people don’t seem to know about.

Learn what it entails and how you can add this to your freelance flex in a way that compliments your languages and travel experience. Turn your languages and cultural knowledge multiple currency-cash flow, you know?

  • The more language and music knowledge I gathered, the more travel opportunities presented themselves.

Now almost 90 countries in, I can share my top tips for seeing the world affordably, sustainably and with purpose, whenever possible.

  • This course is constantly replenished and refreshed, moving with the rhythms of new inspiration and discovery. Radios, apps, events, TED talks, books, you name it: if it has helped me on this journey, you will find it here: the Masterclass PDF won’t disappoint you.

The 30 Day Playlists live here! We add to them every month. The best thing about this course is that it empowers no matter what your target language is, plus it gives you access to an ever-expanding library of resources.

We run online classes in range of languages that Masterclass people can attend for free, and if you can’t make it, don’t worry- the audio recordings of the classes and the monthly online meet ups (LTM Lounges) live here too.

  • My main goal in LTM life is to get YOU confident and resourced enough to be able to make your own 30 Day playlist. Creative and independent enough to dance your own dance through whichever language you ar learning. So you get a guide that help you do just that. And certificate, because we love ya.

As a matter of fact, you've accomplished something I've always been looking for. It’s very difficult to find original music from a foreign country, without drowning in that ocean of endless online content. And the solution is to build a community of like-minded individuals sharing their own experiences. Looks like that’s what you’ve done. Parabéns!”
